About the role#
The Freshman Biology Laboratory assistant helps keep our biology labs organized, stocked, and ready for class. You will support the efficient operation of the laboratory environment by handling setup, breakdown, and general maintenance tasks throughout the semester.
What you'll do#
- Prepare materials and experiments for laboratory sessions.
- Set up and break down lab activities.
- Keep the laboratory space clean and organized.
- Monitor and restock supplies and specimens.
- Check in on lab sections to confirm instructor needs are met.
- Follow all safety protocols.
- Work with preserved biological specimens and occasionally handle chemicals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Delaware Valley University.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- A responsible and conscientious work ethic.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respond to work emails.
- Interest in biology and laboratory work.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Completion of Bio or BioSci I and II with a grade of B or better is preferred.
- Ability to stand or walk for the duration of shifts and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
