About the role#
DBR is hiring Mechanical Design Interns for our Houston, San Antonio, and El Paso offices. This is a paid, full-time, on-site role with a rolling start date. You will work under the guidance of a mentor to support our mechanical engineering projects.
What you'll do#
- Research building codes and standards for specific projects.
- Assist your mentor with HVAC load calculations using Trane Trace 3D plus or Carrier HAP software.
- Help size ductwork and piping systems.
- Prepare mechanical construction drawings in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Assist with the selection and scheduling of mechanical equipment.
- Review design documents with your mentor or an engineer before they are finalized.
- Communicate with internal and external project team members.
- Attend at least one project site visit.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering.
- You are eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Ability to work well with others as part of a project team.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to ask questions and learn.
