About the role#
DBR is hiring Mechanical Design Interns for our offices in Houston, San Antonio, and El Paso. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship offered on a rolling basis. You will work alongside mentors to support mechanical engineering projects.
What you'll do#
- Research building codes and standards for specific projects.
- Help mentors perform HVAC load calculations using Trane Trace 3D Plus or Carrier HAP software.
- Assist in sizing ductwork and piping systems.
- Prepare mechanical construction drawings in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Select and schedule mechanical equipment.
- Review design documents with engineers before they are finalized.
- Coordinate with internal and external project team members.
- Attend at least one project site visit.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Ability to work effectively within a project team.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to ask questions.
