About the role#
DBR is hiring an Electrical Design Intern to support our engineering teams in Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling start date. You will work on-site to gain practical experience in electrical design for building systems.
What you'll do#
- Create power distribution and one-line diagrams.
- Design lighting layouts, lighting controls, and receptacle plans.
- Circuit HVAC and plumbing equipment.
- Develop interior and exterior lighting plans using photometric layouts and energy codes.
- Calculate electrical service requirements using the NEC.
- Design electrical distribution systems, including conductor sizing, derating, and AIC ratings.
- Review submittals during construction and answer contractor questions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor degree in Architectural Engineering.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit.
- Ability to work effectively within a project team.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to ask questions and learn.
