About the role#
DBR is hiring an Electrical Design Intern to join our engineering team. This is a full-time, paid internship with rolling start dates. You will work on-site at our offices in Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio.
What you'll do#
- Design power distribution and one-line diagrams.
- Layout and circuit lighting, controls, and receptacles.
- Create lighting plans for interiors and exteriors using photometric layouts and energy codes.
- Develop lighting control systems that meet owner requirements and energy standards.
- Apply NEC, IECC, ASHRAE, NFPA 101, and IBC codes to your work.
- Calculate electrical service loads and design distribution systems, including conductor sizing, derating, and AIC ratings.
- Review construction submittals and answer questions from contractors.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering.
- You must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a project team.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to ask questions and learn.
