About the role#
David Zwirner is seeking a Sales Intern for the New York location. This role provides hands-on experience in the daily operations of a contemporary art gallery and offers an introduction to the professional art world.
What you'll do#
- Provide administrative and project support to the Sales Team and front desk.
- Assist with exhibition-related tasks, including supporting gallery openings and events.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for the public by answering questions about current exhibitions and gallery programming.
- Act as a gallery attendant to ensure the security and presentation of artwork.
- Manage the shipping, receiving, and distribution of mail and packages.
- Prepare materials for client viewings and assist with client book mailings.
- Maintain internal resource documents, restock supplies, and ensure the professional appearance of workstations.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in the marketing landscape of the art world.
- A highly personable, focused, and hardworking nature.
- A detail-oriented eye for maintaining an organized and elevated office space.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to be diligent.
- A positive, helpful, and team-oriented attitude.
- Academic background in Art, Business Administration, Marketing, or Communications is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, New York.
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 8th to December 18th).
- Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, 10 AM to 6 PM, with additional hours for occasional evening events. The schedule shifts to part-time (3.5 days a week or less) from December 8th to December 18th.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship at $17 per hour.
- Requirements: Candidates must be residents of New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut. No lodging or commuting expenses are provided.
