About the role#
CPL hires interns to join our civil engineering team. This role offers the chance to work on infrastructure, wastewater, transportation, and site development projects. You will work directly with our staff to gain experience in the field of architecture and planning.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the team on conceptual planning and design for civil engineering projects.
- Create and update engineering drawings, concept plans, and figures using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Assist with design calculations using manual methods or modeling software.
- Support the preparation of technical reports and project applications.
- Help with construction administration tasks, such as reviewing submittals and responding to requests for information.
- Conduct site visits to review progress and onsite conditions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering degree program.
- A strong sense of curiosity and a motivation to learn.
- Ability to work well within a team and take on new challenges.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to contribute your own ideas.

- Location: Poughkeepsie, New York.
- Terms: Winter 2027 or Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $19.00 to $21.00 per hour.
- Status: Paid, full-time internship.
