About the role#
As a Structural Engineering Intern, you will join our integrated design team in Charlotte. You will assist with the design of structural systems for new construction and building renovation projects. This is a paid, full-time position for the Summer 2027 term. You will work alongside licensed engineers and collaborate with professionals across architecture and other disciplines to gain hands-on experience in the design process.
What you'll do#
- Work with a licensed engineer to design structural systems for various building projects.
- Attend design team meetings to observe how a multi-disciplinary team coordinates their work.
- Assist with the design and development of construction documents, primarily using Revit.
- Coordinate structural design requirements with architecture and other internal disciplines.
- Visit an active construction site.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least one year in an ABET-accredited Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering program.
- Experience or interest in BIM workflows, such as Autodesk Revit.
- Interest in architectural building design.
- Preference is given to third-year students.
- Preference is given to those who have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
