About the role#
We are looking for an Electrical Engineering intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in San Carlos, California. You will work directly on hardware and systems that power our space-based energy infrastructure.
What you'll do#
- Design, simulate, and test RF and optical communication systems.
- Develop firmware and software for avionics, compute, and ground systems.
- Perform PCB layout, electrical design, and satellite component integration.
- Conduct spacecraft and launch vehicle analysis, including thermal modeling and mechanical design.
- Work on propulsion system design, fluids analysis, and structural mechanics.
- Validate and troubleshoot hardware and subsystems.
- Manage data analysis, CAD modeling, and technical documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in a STEM field such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science.
- Strong grasp of fundamentals in math, physics, or engineering.
- Ability to work hands-on in a lab environment with test equipment.
- A collaborative, self-directed work style and comfort with ambiguity.

- This is a paid position.
