About the role#
The COVE Internship Program connects post-secondary students with organizations developing technologies in the maritime, defence, digital, and environmental sectors. This program matches you with a host organization based on your education and skills to ensure your work aligns with your career goals. You will contribute to a core business project while gaining practical experience alongside industry professionals and researchers.

What you'll need#
- You must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
- You must be actively enrolled in a post-secondary program.
- We welcome students from all disciplines, including Environmental Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, Marketing, and Communications.
- You are a motivated, collaborative self-starter with project management skills.
- Experience with technical software or equipment like AutoCAD, Python, C/C++, or MATLAB is helpful.
- Backgrounds in marine, technology, or defence environments and maritime certifications are considered assets.
Location & details#
- Location: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
- Term: Fall 2026 (13 weeks, September to December).
- Modality: On-site.
- Status: Full-time, paid position at $19 per hour.
About COVE
COVE is a nonprofit organization based in Dartmouth, NS. Founded in 2017, it operates a 51,000 square meter facility along the waterfront. The organization supports the marine innovation sector by connecting ocean technology companies, researchers, and service providers. It provides shared workspaces, workshops, and vessel accommodation to help these stakeholders develop commercial solutions.
