About the role#
This is a full-time, 12-week internship for Summer 2027 based in Chicago. You will join the Actuarial Pricing team to gain experience with real-world insurance projects. Throughout the summer, you will work alongside our actuaries and receive guidance as you continue your actuarial exam path.
What you'll do#
- Provide actuarial pricing support across all lines of business.
- Assist with the pricing of new program opportunities.
- Develop premium and loss ratio projections for the annual planning process.
- Prepare and distribute monthly pricing reports.
- Assist the Insurance Department with rate filings as needed.
- Build new rating tools and help migrate existing tools to new platforms.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
- Studying for CAS preliminary exams, with 1-2 exams passed preferred.
- Basic experience with Excel.
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- The ability to learn, understand, and apply technical concepts.
- An interest in the insurance industry and knowledge of the actuarial exam process.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
