    About the role#

    This Community Assistance Fellow position is an AmeriCorps service opportunity hosted by Conservation Legacy in partnership with the National Park Service Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance program. You will support local conservation and outdoor recreation projects, with a primary focus on schoolyard greening efforts in the Los Angeles area. This is a full-time, paid position that spans from November 2026 through October 2027.

    What you'll do#

    • Support staff with outreach, engagement, and site analysis.
    • Attend and facilitate project meetings.
    • Communicate with project partners.
    • Assist with schematic design, graphic communication, and project presentations.
    • Support schoolyard greening outreach efforts.
    • Develop an outreach strategy for the Los Angeles area.
    • Complete a schoolyard greening concept plan.

    What you'll need#

    • Experience in landscape architecture, planning, or a closely related field.
    • Must be a United States citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien.
    • At least 17 years of age.
    • A high school diploma or equivalency certificate, or an agreement to obtain one.
    • Ability to provide information to establish eligibility and complete a National Service Criminal History Check.

    • Location: Westlake Village, California.
    • Modality: This is a hybrid role, combining local teleservice with occasional in-person meetings at office locations or project sites.
    • Transportation: You must provide your own transportation to and from work sites or use public transportation.
    • Term: November 2, 2026, to October 29, 2027.
