    About the role#

    This AmeriCorps position serves with the National Park Service Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance program. You will support local conservation and outdoor recreation projects throughout Southern California. The role focuses on schoolyard greening initiatives in Los Angeles and helps expand the capacity of the program to serve new project partners.

    What you'll do#

    • Support staff with outreach, engagement, and site analysis.
    • Facilitate and attend project meetings.
    • Communicate directly with project partners.
    • Prepare schematic designs, graphic materials, and project presentations.
    • Develop an outreach strategy for the Los Angeles area.
    • Provide support to an ongoing schoolyard greening project.

    What you'll need#

    • Experience in landscape architecture, urban planning, or a related field.
    • You must be a United States citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
    • You must be at least 17 years old.
    • A high school diploma or equivalency certificate is required.
    • You must agree to complete a National Service Criminal History Check.

    Location & details#

    • This is a full-time, paid position.
    • The role is hybrid, combining local teleservice with occasional in-person meetings at National Park Service offices or project sites.
    • You must provide your own transportation to work locations.
    • The service term spans from November 2026 through October 2027.
