    About the role#

    The Acoma Farm Corps Fellow joins the Ancestral Lands Conservation Corps to support local food systems through agriculture, seed sovereignty, and traditional knowledge. This role focuses on the regeneration of indigenous landrace seeds and the restoration of traditional farming practices within the Acoma Pueblo community. Fellows work under the guidance of program staff to foster intergenerational connections and ensure the resilience of agricultural heritage.

    What you'll do#

    • Plant and cultivate indigenous plants, food, and seeds.
    • Perform field maintenance, including weeding and irrigation.
    • Harvest and process fresh crops and seeds for the community.
    • Monitor and track tool and equipment inventory.
    • Maintain tool and equipment maintenance routines.
    • Promote the physical and emotional safety of the crew on and off the work site.
    • Document project outcomes and report accomplishments to staff.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be at least 17 years of age.
    • You must be a United States citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien.
    • You must possess a high school diploma or equivalency certificate.
    • You must have an insurable driving record to operate program vehicles.
    • You must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
    • You should be comfortable working in outdoor conditions and possess strong time-management skills.

    • Location: Acoma Pueblo, New Mexico.
    • Term: Fall 2026 (August 3, 2026, to December 18, 2026).
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • This is a full-time, paid position.
