About the role#
This internship is part of a software team embedded in a quantitative equity fund. You will work at the intersection of finance and technology, where investment decisions rely on programmed strategies. The team operates in Vancouver and maintains an entrepreneurial culture.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with portfolio managers, analysts, and researchers to analyze financial problems.
- Design, plan, and implement software solutions.
- Maintain investment systems through enhancements and support.
- Own the entire software life cycle.
- Work with technologies including Python, Kdb+/Q, R, Spark, AWS, and Databricks.
What you'll need#
- Working towards an undergraduate, graduate, or post-graduate degree in a computer-related field, such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Finance.
- An analytical mind and a preference for mental challenges.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
- A genuine interest in investment management.
- Eligibility to work in Canada on your start date.
- Preference is given to students in their final internship term.
