About the role#
As a Benefits Intern, you will support the Benefits team with document management, dependent verifications, and internal customer service. This role provides hands on experience with compliance, case management, and employee communication. It is a part-time position, limited to 20 hours per week, designed to accommodate school schedules. This is a paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Review the Benefits Administration platform daily for new life events and pending document requests.
- Process and file dependent verification documents and other required forms.
- Update enrollment information in the Benefits Administration system.
- Support the annual Open Enrollment process by assisting with document requests, verifications, and case management.
- Monitor and respond to messages in the Benefits inbox within required timeframes.
- Provide communication to associates regarding document submissions and enrollment status.
- Assist with preparation for New Hire Orientations and Open Enrollment presentations.
- Organize and maintain benefits-related files and correspondence.
What you'll need#
- Current student or recent graduate in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
- Willingness to learn HRIS and benefits systems.
Location & details#
- Location: San Diego, California.
- Modality: On-site at the corporate office.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Pay: $19 to $20 per hour, depending on experience.
- This position is contingent upon passing a background check, employment verification, and drug screening.
