About the role#
As a Radiology Student, you will perform diagnostic imaging procedures while under the direct supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist. This position allows you to build technical skills and clinical competency through supervised learning across various imaging modalities. You will support patient care by assisting with exams, following safety protocols, and maintaining an organized work environment.
What you'll do#
- Perform radiologic examinations while ensuring correct patient identification and adherence to imaging protocols.
- Position patients and select technical factors to obtain diagnostic images.
- Explain procedures to patients to promote comfort and understanding.
- Follow department standards for radiation safety, infection control, and the use of personal protective equipment.
- Label images accurately using side markers.
- Document procedures in the appropriate systems and ensure exam fields are complete.
- Maintain a clean and safe imaging environment.
- Seek guidance from technologists and clinical instructors to ensure safe performance.
- Maintain regular attendance and follow all hospital policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Up to one year of clinical experience.
- Basic knowledge of radiographic procedures and imaging equipment.
- Understanding of radiation safety principles and infection prevention.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with electronic health records.
- Ability to follow instructions and apply feedback in a clinical setting.
- Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification, which must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
