About the role#
The MHC Fellow will support the Michigan Climate Jobs coalition in its mission to modernize and decarbonize public school buildings across the state. This full-time position runs from January 13, 2027, to August 20, 2027. You will work to help Michigan become a leader in clean energy generation while creating union careers and healthy learning spaces for students.
What you'll do#
- Track the progress of schools as they develop bid-ready modernization and decarbonization plans.
- Monitor schools interested in joining the project pipeline.
- Build relationships with school districts that have already implemented clean energy solutions.
- Create case studies and stories about successful clean energy projects.
- Coordinate and film videos that highlight the importance of modernizing public schools with clean energy.
- Plan meetings, educational programs, and outreach activities to help communities access federal and state climate resources.
- Share information with the public regarding the reduction of emissions, energy use, and waste.
- Participate in member development, shared learning, and collaboration activities with other MHC Fellows.
Location & details#
- This is a hybrid role. You will work remotely but must attend three in-person convenings.
- You are expected to participate in monthly virtual trainings.
- The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm.
