About the role#
The MHC Fellow will work with the Marygrove Conservancy to guide the sustainability and resilience of their 53-acre campus in Detroit. This is a full-time, on-site position running from January 13, 2027, through August 20, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Create the first Campus Sustainability & Resilience Plan for Marygrove by assessing current practices and setting long-term priorities for energy, water, waste, and land use.
- Establish baseline benchmarks for energy and resource use in campus buildings.
- Work with operations teams and technical partners to identify energy-efficiency and conservation projects.
- Evaluate sustainability options for capital projects, such as renewable energy, stormwater management, and EV charging.
- Build a funding pipeline by identifying grants, incentives, and partnerships to support sustainability goals.
- Engage campus partners and the local community through meetings, educational programs, and outreach activities focused on climate and environmental stewardship.
- Take part in MHC Fellows development, including monthly virtual trainings and three in-person convenings.

- Location: Detroit, Michigan.
- Term: Winter 2027 through Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site, Monday through Friday, 8am to 6pm.
