About the role#
The MHC Fellow will work with the Live6 Alliance, a non-profit organization focused on economic opportunity and community development in northwest Detroit. This role involves managing sustainability projects and connecting the local community with climate resources. The fellow will work on-site from January 13, 2027, through August 20, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate the installation of a pilot commercial solar project alongside business owners and project partners.
- Plan and develop a neighborhood Resilience Hub at two demonstration sites.
- Advise the Resident Resources and Support team on adding sustainability features to home repair programs.
- Attend meetings for Marquette County's Climate Adaptation Task Force and the Northern Climate Network's Climate@Noon seminar series.
- Help the community access state and federal climate resources by planning outreach programs, educational meetings, and information sessions on waste reduction and energy use.
- Engage in MHC Fellows development activities, including monthly virtual trainings and three in-person convenings.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site position located at 7426 W. McNichols, Detroit, MI 48221.
- Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm, with some evening and weekend events required.
