About the role#
As an Actuarial Intern, you will join our team for a 16-week summer placement. You will work on client-driven projects alongside mentors who support your professional growth. This role offers exposure to corporate actuarial functions, as well as pricing for auto, home, commercial, and farm business lines.
What you'll do#
- Support regulatory and strategic analyses using actuarial models, data sources, and programming languages.
- Participate in pricing and research projects for specific business lines.
- Improve and automate files to assist in the selection of assumptions.
- Prepare profitability reports and rate indications.
- Collaborate with mentors on team projects and maintain documentation of actuarial functions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or statistics, with at least two years completed.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English and French.
- Ability to use critical thinking to recognize assumptions and evaluate arguments.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Experience with R, Python, SQL, or other pricing tools is an asset.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- Positions are located on-site in Montreal, Guelph, or Toronto.
- The role includes a 5% bilingual premium, flexible work scheduling, and support for actuarial exams including paid study days.
