About the role#
This is a full-time, 4-month internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will join the Investment Performance, Analytics and Reporting team in Edmonton. This group provides performance analytics and attribution information for AIMCo clients and investment pools. You will contribute to the production of monthly and quarterly reports while gaining exposure to investment methodologies and operational processes.
What you'll do#
- Gather data and commentary from internal stakeholders to create investment reports for clients and consultants.
- Help improve quality checks and reduce manual tasks through automation.
- Learn about AIMCo investment pools and client asset mandates.
- Assist with reporting and operational enhancement requests.
- Support team members in responding to ad hoc inquiries from external clients and consultants.
- Generate supporting reports for internal and external audits.
- Participate in projects related to investment performance and reporting.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Intermediate skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word.
- Proven attention to detail and accuracy.
- Commitment to AIMCo values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity, and collaboration.
- Experience with SQL, Python, Power BI, and data querying is preferred.
- Strong communication, writing, and relationship-building skills are preferred.
- Ability to translate investment data into meaningful client commentary is preferred.
