About the role#
The Soil and Crop Modeling team develops simulation technologies to design and optimize agricultural equipment. You will work with engineers to simulate how soil and crop materials interact with machine components. This role involves using physics and computational modeling to support concept development and equipment design before physical testing begins.
What you'll do#
- Develop and validate virtual soil models for agricultural machinery and field operations using Discrete Element Method (DEM) simulation software.
- Measure physical and mechanical soil properties in the laboratory and the field.
- Process experimental data and incorporate your findings into virtual simulation models.
- Expand the existing library of virtual soil models.
- Collaborate with design, simulation, and test engineering teams to improve agricultural equipment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associates, Technical, Bachelor’s, or Post-graduate degree program.
- Academic background in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Engineering, Biological/Biosystem/Bioresource Engineering, or Agronomy.

- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week).

- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
