About the role#
The Operations Management Intern will support continuous improvement initiatives within depot and materials operations. You will evaluate the performance of warehouse automation technologies, including AutoStore and Pick & Flow systems. This role involves working with operations, materials, engineering, and technology teams to analyze processes, identify optimization opportunities, and recommend solutions for improved efficiency and inventory flow.
What you'll do#
- Develop an understanding of depot operations, material flow, and warehouse automation.
- Analyze how AutoStore, Pick & Flow, and other material handling systems interact.
- Collect and analyze data on throughput, inventory movement, order fulfillment, and system utilization.
- Observe workflows to identify ways to reduce waste and improve system performance.
- Document current processes and map material flow across the depot network.
- Conduct root cause analysis on operational bottlenecks and integration challenges.
- Research industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Create business cases, reports, and dashboards to present findings to leadership.
- Assist with the testing and implementation of process improvements.
- Monitor results of implemented changes using key performance indicators.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college degree program, pursuing at least a Bachelor's degree.
- Preferred fields of study include Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or Industrial Engineering.
