About the role#
The Benson Manufacturing Engineering team manages the processes used to build crop application equipment. As an intern, you will work on projects to improve efficiency, product quality, and worker safety. You will gain experience in engineering analysis, problem-solving, and project management while working full-time hours.
What you'll do#
- Conduct time and motion studies to evaluate process efficiency.
- Assist with line balancing to optimize workflow and productivity.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures.
- Support work cell layout and design to improve efficiency and safety.
- Assist in tool and fixture design to support production needs.
- Collaborate with multiple manufacturing disciplines.
- Engage with plant staff to collect observations and feedback.
- Apply project management skills to complete assignments with predefined scope and deliverables.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing at minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Agricultural Engineering or a related field.
