About the role#
We are hiring an IS Services and Support Intern to join our team in Edmonton. This role focuses on troubleshooting technology issues for our employees, aiming for first-call resolution or proper triage. You will work on an 8-month term starting in January 2027.
What you'll do#
- Respond to and troubleshoot service requests via phone, email, chat, and in-person visits to offices or job sites.
- Document all issue details, including priority and categorization, within our service desk tool.
- Execute IMACD requests, which include hardware setups, office moves, and permission assignments.
- Provide guidance for internally supported devices, applications, and systems.
- Escalate complex concerns to subject-matter experts and follow up on incidents.
- Create and maintain FAQ documents, knowledge articles, and user guides.
- Collaborate with the IS team to develop and deliver end-user training.
- Build relationships with support technicians to meet productivity goals.
- Advocate for the end user to ensure they receive quality, timely support.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary institution, specifically in Computer Science or a technology-related program.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Previous experience in a technical customer service role is an asset.
- Software and hardware certifications are considered an asset.
