About the role#
Clark Builders is seeking Project Coordinator Students for an 8 or 12-month work term starting in September 2026. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Red Deer, Alberta. You will support Project Managers and Superintendents in all aspects of the construction process, including monitoring project plans, managing schedules, and coordinating stakeholder meetings to ensure deadlines are met.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project startups, including tendering, bid evaluations, subcontract preparation, permit applications, quantity take-offs, and project communication plans.
- Manage project execution and document control, including RFIs, Site Instructions, Submittals, Change Requests, and Change Orders.
- Oversee project closeout tasks such as inspections, owner training, O&M Manual management, and deficiency list tracking.
- Maintain the integrity of the QA/QC plan.
- Facilitate meetings, record minutes, and track action items.
- Track project productivity, performance, and basic project accounting.
- Support and grow relationships with trade partners and clients.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree, diploma, or 2-year certificate in a construction-related discipline, such as Civil, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or Business Administration.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Previous experience as a Project Coordinator in Commercial, Industrial, or Institutional construction is an asset.
- Familiarity with Procore, Last Planner System, collaborative pull planning, and various construction contracts is an asset.
