About the role#
The City of Oklahoma City Airports Department is seeking part-time, year-round interns to support public administration and airport operations. This role serves as a training opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience by assisting with research, technical assignments, and departmental projects. Interns work a maximum of 29 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Provide standard research and administrative support to the assigned City department.
- Perform a variety of project-related, department-specific, and financial assignments.
- Assist with special projects while completing degree programs.
- Operate with minimal supervision to complete assigned duties.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a junior or senior undergraduate student, or a master's student, in aviation management, aviation technology, or a closely related field.
- Recent graduates (within the past two years) with a degree in aviation management, aviation technology, public administration, business, or a closely related field are also eligible.
- Familiarity with the principles of airport planning, operations, and management.
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, including 14CFR Parts 77, 91, and 139.
- Ability to provide copies of academic transcripts at the time of application.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a high-performing environment.
- Possession of a pilot certificate is beneficial but not required.

- Compensation: $17.50 – $22.50 per hour.
- Requirements: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Assignments within the Airports Department require a successful TSA background check, including fingerprinting.
