About the role#
The Cloud Engineer Intern position is part of the Enterprise Technology and Security Summer Internship Program. This 10-week summer program offers hands-on experience in cloud engineering and architecture. You will work alongside engineers to modernize how Citizens stores and accesses data. Interns receive mentorship, attend professional development workshops, and participate in networking and community service activities.
What you'll do#
- Gain exposure to blueprint design and cloud architecture concepts.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of cloud-based solutions.
- Support cloud technologies across the organization.
- Provide technical support to cloud solution end users and partners.
- Monitor the performance of cloud applications and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop a foundation in cloud security and engineering best practices.
- Support adherence to cybersecurity protocols while collaborating with cybersecurity and software engineering teams.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in computer science, software development, or a related technology field.
- Expected graduation date of May 2028.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Completion of a video interview assessment within 4 days of receiving the link.
- Solid understanding of one or more of the following: Java, JavaScript, C, Python.Net, Node, or SQL.
- Ability to work in a team environment with strong communication skills.
- Preferred: Experience with cloud engineering, cybersecurity coursework, or exposure to AWS, Azure, GCP, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, IaC tools, Kibana, or DataDog.
- Preferred: Exposure to software automation, APIs, AI-assisted development tools, or cloud-based AI services.
Location & details#
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
- Locations: Johnston, RI; Phoenix, AZ; or Plano, TX.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
- Sponsorship: Permanent work authorization in the United States is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
