About the role#
This is a four month full-time internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will join the hardware development team in Ottawa to work on switching products. This role focuses on the implementation and validation of circuit packs.
What you'll do#
- Test and debug new and existing circuit boards.
- Manage board programming and prototype inventory.
- Validate board functionality, performance, operating margins, and robustness through design verification.
- Conduct signal integrity measurements, thermal stress testing, and component qualification.
- Create and update documentation including Design Specifications and Test Plans.
- Use Cadence CAD tools like Concept and Allegro.
- Gain experience with fiber optic transport equipment and specialized test gear.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor degree program for Electrical Engineering.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Experience with hardware design and debugging.
- Familiarity with PCB schematic capture and layout tools.
- Understanding of high speed signaling, transmission lines, and digital or analog design.
- Experience using lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes, analyzers, and test sets.
