About the role#
As a Strategic Sourcing Intern in the Transportation division, you will contribute to projects that support our agriculture operations. This paid internship offers the chance to build practical skills, work with experienced professionals, and gain insight into how our business functions. You will be expected to work on-site at our location in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.
What you'll do#
- Perform logistical tasks including reporting, email correspondence, and customer service.
- Manage carrier information and pricing documents in Excel and ERP systems.
- Identify and resolve service issues using root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Reconcile freight payments.
- Build relationships with carrier operations personnel and internal teams like Sales and customer service.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define performance metrics.
- Develop presentations for business reviews and sourcing projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, Business Economics, or Agribusiness.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Strong skills in data management, communication, and time management.
- Ability to influence internal customers and lead change efforts.
- A self-starter mindset and a motivation to learn new systems.
- Project management and change management skills.
