About the role#
The Design Engineer Intern supports our team by helping to develop solutions that meet client requirements. You will work on engineering studies for products and components while reviewing technical data and proposals. This position offers hands-on experience through collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure design projects succeed.
What you'll do#
- Apply engineering principles to design, modify, or develop facilities, testing, machines, equipment, and processes.
- Create engineering drawings, bills of material, calculations, and routings.
- Analyze data with design engineers to determine if a product proposal is feasible.
- Prepare product or system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.
- Support engineered-to-order and purchase-to-order requests by gathering vendor and technical information.
- Document design details and maintain records using internal systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and technical resources.
- Study technical publications to stay informed on industry developments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Ability to apply engineering fundamentals to real-world problems through calculations and analytical thinking.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A proactive approach to managing tasks independently and working within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Exposure to CAD, ERP, or CRM systems is a plus.
