About the role#
The Student Involvement Specialist leads co-curricular programs designed to enhance student learning outside the classroom. This role focuses on increasing student interaction, developing community, and supporting leadership growth through both in-person and virtual initiatives. You will serve as a key liaison between students, faculty, and staff to foster a sense of belonging across the college.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate and implement a comprehensive college-wide co-curricular engagement program.
- Partner with college departments and student leaders to promote meaningful engagement and strengthen student leadership.
- Align involvement initiatives with College Core Abilities and Student Journey learning outcomes by developing assessment tools and tracking event data.
- Support first year experience programming and coordinate activities for students in university housing.
- Monitor allocated student activity fee budgets and ensure responsible stewardship of funds.
- Develop and execute marketing and communication strategies for student programs.
- Collaborate with external organizations, speakers, and entertainers to facilitate campus activities.
- Work with internal departments like IT, Finance, and Facilities to develop operational procedures.
- Assist in the coordination of New Student Orientation, Welcome Day, and Commencement.
- Maintain content on the internal student-facing webpage and learning management system.
- Serve on College committees to support the institutional mission.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, School Counseling, Higher Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of related experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives through collaboration and effective project coordination.
- Intermediate knowledge of Office 365 Suite, Canvas, Qualtrics, and Google Drive.
- Strong organizational skills, creativity, and independent judgment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends, and travel throughout the district.
- Master’s degree in Student Affairs or Higher Education Leadership is preferred.
- Experience in college student development, student programming, and advising is preferred.
- Experience working with diverse populations and post-secondary environments is preferred.
