About the role#
The Student Involvement & First Year Experience Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and assessment of a college-wide co-curricular engagement program. This role is designed to enhance student learning, belonging, and community engagement across all campuses. You will coordinate involvement efforts, advise the Student Association, and collaborate with academic and administrative partners to create an inclusive student experience. This position also serves as the coordinator for orientation, first year experience, and transitional programming to support new, pre-core, and transfer students.
What you'll do#
- Serve as a key resource for the Student Involvement team and provide peer guidance.
- Design and implement a student development framework that promotes leadership, belonging, and success.
- Coordinate student engagement events, including entertainment and programming.
- Lead the assessment of involvement initiatives by evaluating student satisfaction and learning outcomes.
- Develop marketing and communication strategies to promote student services and events.
- Oversee and edit content on the student-facing webpage and the Canvas learning management system.
- Coordinate Welcome Day, Orientation, and transitional programs.
- Utilize CRM and ERP systems for data collection and analysis.
- Collaborate with campus and community partners to foster an inclusive first year experience.
- Support the monitoring of student activity fees and grant budgets.
- Provide leadership and advisement for the Student Association and coordinate SA Ambassadors.
- Maintain SA bylaws and lead the planning of the annual StELAR awards.
- Assist in the coordination of Commencement ceremonies.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, School Counseling, Higher Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of related experience.
- Ability to lead projects, manage priorities, and drive implementation of initiatives.
- Strong organizational skills, creativity, and independent judgment.
- Intermediate knowledge of Office 365, Canvas, Qualtrics, and Google Drive.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to model integrity and apply critical thinking to problem solving.
- Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Leadership, or related field is preferred.
- Experience in college student development, programming, and advising is preferred.

- Location: Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends.
- Travel: Ability to travel throughout the 11-county district and the state.
