About the role#
The E5 Hematology/Oncology/Transplant unit is a 24-bed unit at Children's Wisconsin. Nurses here care for children with cancer or blood disorders, as well as those undergoing bone marrow transplantation. Patients typically stay on this unit for 3 to 45 days.
What you'll do#
You will perform nursing tasks under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. You must have prior training and demonstrated competency for any task you perform on the unit.
What you'll need#
- Senior level status in a nursing program.
- Ability to communicate and follow detailed instructions for patient care and transport.
- Physical ability to work and stand for long periods.
- Capacity to lift and position patients weighing up to 75 pounds.
- BLS Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or National Safety Council.
