About the role#
Clinical pharmacy interns assist pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care to patients. This role involves performing practical and mechanical pharmacy tasks while working under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. Interns contribute to departmental operations and help ensure the delivery of safe and cost-effective medication therapies.
What you'll do#
- Procure and distribute medication orders per physician requests and established protocols.
- Ensure safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapies for patients.
- Maintain adequate stock levels of medications and supplies.
- Contribute to the effective daily operation of the pharmacy department.
- Assist pharmacists in providing clinical pharmaceutical care.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Active enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Ability to obtain a Registered Pharmacy Intern license (or equivalent) for both Missouri and Kansas within 180 days of hire.
- No prior experience is necessary, as on-the-job training is provided.
- Willingness to comply with immunization requirements, including seasonal influenza and other standard vaccinations.
