2026-2027 Petroleum Engineer Intern

About the role#

This internship program offers students the opportunity to contribute to multi-disciplinary teams within the energy sector. Interns are assigned to production and reservoir engineering roles, working on projects focused on asset development planning, production operations, reserves, uncertainty and risk management, and capital project development. Projects are matched based on the intern's degree path and previous experience. Each intern is paired with a mentor to provide professional guidance throughout the term.

What you'll do#

• Develop technical skills through hands-on production and reservoir engineering assignments.
• Contribute to projects that provide value to the company.
• Collaborate within teams that may include geologists, geophysicists, facility engineers, drilling and completion engineers, data scientists, and software developers.
• Work in either field or office-based environments.

What you'll need#

• Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong academic performance in core coursework.
• Demonstrated skills in communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving.
• Ability to demonstrate The Chevron Way.
• Ability to drive on a routine basis, as the position may require it.
