About the role#
Chevron is seeking Petroleum Engineer Interns for the Summer 2026 term. Interns join multi-disciplinary teams that may include geologists, geophysicists, facility engineers, drilling and completion engineers, data scientists, and software developers. Projects are assigned based on your degree and previous experience, and you will be paired with a mentor for guidance throughout the program.
What you'll do#
- Develop technical skills in production and reservoir engineering assignments.
- Focus on asset development planning, production operations, reserves, uncertainty and risk management, and capital project development.
- Contribute value to Chevron through project-based work.
- Work in either field or office settings as determined by the assignment.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong academic performance in core programs.
- Demonstrated skills in communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving.
- Ability to demonstrate The Chevron Way.
- Ability to drive on a routine basis if required by the position.

- Locations: Houston, Texas; Midland, Texas; Covington, Louisiana; and Bakersfield, California.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
- Sponsorship: Chevron will not sponsor employment visas for this position, except for candidates possessing or currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program.
