About the role#
The Medical Assistant Intern acts as a primary point of contact for patient care. You will work under close supervision to support physicians and advanced practice providers. This role involves a mix of clinical and administrative tasks, following established policies and quality standards.
What you'll do#
- Discuss symptoms with patients and obtain vital signs.
- Administer medications and vaccines.
- Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens.
- Conduct diagnostic screening tests.
- Maintain examination rooms and sterilize equipment.
- Document information in electronic medical records.
- Handle routine clerical, operational, and customer support tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
- Valid CPR certification.
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant status is preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred, subject to a proficiency exam.
Location & details#
- Location: Ormond Beach, Florida.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
- This is a paid, part-time internship position.
- Work is performed on-site.
