About the role#
As a Service Consultant Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the utility industry by managing customer distribution projects. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support critical infrastructure and deliver energy solutions. This role involves project coordination, technical design, and customer service in a professional setting.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with internal departments, municipalities, outside consulting firms, and other utilities to execute projects.
- Work with elected officials and employees of city, county, and state entities.
- Gather project information, prepare estimates, and analyze data.
- Design electrical and gas distribution facilities.
- Represent the company in service extension negotiations and secure project payments.
- Research easement rights and ensure construction finishes within specified timeframes.
- Identify and correct issues related to governmental regulations and company standards.
- Review facilities for compliance with the National Electric Safety Code, the National Electric Code, and local ordinances.
- Perform field inspections for final project approvals, foreign cable attachments, and customer requests.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in construction science, construction management, engineering technology, business, or marketing.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- A valid driver's license.
- The ability to manage a varied schedule to meet project deadlines.
