About the role#
This is a 16-month internship within the Power Infrastructure team. You will work on engineering and manufacturing tasks to support pricing management and product data analysis. During the first three months, you will receive close supervision and detailed instructions. As you gain proficiency, you will take on more complex duties and work with greater autonomy. You will collaborate with global teams and suppliers, gaining experience in international operations.
What you'll do#
- Process customer Bill of Material (BOM) documents, engineering drawings, and Approved Vendor Lists (AVL).
- Analyze and deploy the technical and commercial impacts of Engineering Change Notices (ECN).
- Manage supply chain parameters including Lead Time, Minimum Order Quantity, and Estimated Annual Usage.
- Coordinate and negotiate quote tenders with suppliers to establish costs and set pricing.
- Participate in material bid pricing activities and resolve pricing management issues for customers.
- Consolidate and report on performance metrics, commitments, and data issues.
- Use SAP and internal databases to maintain and develop applications alongside IT and business teams.
- Research market trends and create presentations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an internship program, completing your 3rd year of study.
- Specialization in Business, Finance, Math, Statistics, Economics, or Engineering.
- Intention to return to school following the internship.
- Advanced MS Office skills, specifically Excel functions like VLOOKUP, PIVOT tables, and Indexing.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Project management experience.
- Ability to pass a security assessment for the Canadian Government's Controlled Goods Program.
- Status as a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
- Proficiency in Excel Macros, VBA, or SQL is an asset.
