About the role#
The Hardware Design Engineering Intern will join a specialized R&D team in Austin, Texas. You will contribute to the development of advanced AI hardware solutions. This four-month internship covers the full product lifecycle, from initial concept to production. You will work on-site alongside mechanical, signal integrity, thermal, software, and test engineering teams.
What you'll do#
- Research system concepts and evaluate component requirements for advanced PCB designs.
- Execute schematic capture and assist in creating system specifications, bills of material, diagrams, and drawings.
- Perform hands-on testing, board bring-up, and hardware troubleshooting in the lab.
- Collaborate with internal teams to validate designs for signal integrity, thermal management, and circuit performance.
- Provide engineering support throughout the manufacturing and validation processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- A core focus on hardware development.
- Foundational knowledge of electrical engineering principles, circuit design, and hardware engineering techniques.
- Working knowledge of schematic capture tools.
- Self-motivated approach to completing complex technical assignments.
- Experience with Cadence OrCad is a plus.
- Familiarity with Cadence Allegro is highly preferred.
