About the role#
As an Engineering Intern at Cascades, you will gain hands-on experience in the packaging and containers manufacturing industry. This is a full-time, on-site, paid position based in Ashland, Virginia. You will work a 40-hour week, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
What you'll do#
- Analyze production and maintenance issues to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Complete root cause analyses and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor equipment performance and assist with troubleshooting activities.
- Support chemistry optimization projects and participate in chemical trials.
- Collect, analyze, and report manufacturing data to support operational decision-making.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with other engineering and operational projects as required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Electrical, or related Engineering program.
- Ability to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to heat and industrial equipment.
- Proficiency with computers, manufacturing data, and reporting tools.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with operators, technicians, and engineers.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- A self-motivated, curious, and eager-to-learn attitude.
- Initiative to ask questions and contribute to team objectives.
