About the role#
This is a full-time, paid summer internship based in Columbus, Ohio. You will join the CAS team from May 17, 2027, to August 6, 2027. This role focuses on the intersection of data science and biomedical research, providing an opportunity to contribute to scientific information solutions.
What you'll do#
- Analyze, visualize, and interpret datasets related to drug development or medical biology.
- Harmonize and enhance CAS content for use in products, pipelines, and business solutions.
- Build professional relationships across the organization through the Summer Intern Program.
- Participate in individual and team training to stay current with industry trends.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for bioinformatics, computational biology, biostatistics, or a related field (such as Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Biology, or Biomedical Engineering).
- Proficiency in R or Python within a Unix-like environment.
- A background in molecular biology, immunology, genetics, or related biomedical domains.
- Experience with tools including GitHub, Java, Linux, and pathway visualization software.
- Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with machine learning and data modeling is helpful.
