About the role#
The HPE Networking CTO Wireless Lab is looking for an intern to join our team for up to three months. You will work in a wireless performance testing lab, gaining hands-on experience with testing tools and methodologies while analyzing performance in a real-world setting. This role involves applying neural networking and machine learning techniques to train data analysis models and contributing to projects that impact our wireless networking products.
What you'll do#
- Apply machine learning and neural networking techniques to train data analysis models.
- Participate in the gathering and analysis of test data.
- Configure and deploy lab equipment within a test environment.
- Learn how HPE wireless networking products function from a feature and functionality perspective.
- Apply networking concepts to test scenarios.
- Develop a final report to be delivered to HPE Networking management.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with end-to-end network performance tests, such as iPerf, ping, or Speedtest.net.
- Proficiency in automation and scripting languages like Python or bash.
- Experience with data analysis tools including SQL or Python pandas.
- Strong knowledge of ML/DL concepts with hands-on experience building, training, and deploying models using frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-Learn.
- Ability to use AI coding tools such as Github Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, or Claude code.
- Proficiency with MS Office software for tabulating and presenting results.
- Moderate familiarity with iOS, MacOS, Android, Windows, and Linux operating systems.
- General radio/RF training or experience and basic knowledge of statistics.

- This position is based on-site in San Jose, California.
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- The term is rolling for up to three months.
