About the role#
This internship offers an opportunity to gain practical experience within a food and beverage manufacturing environment. You will participate in an extensive training program focused on food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. Working in an industrial processing plant, you will complete assigned projects that align with operational needs while learning about meat processing production, process control, and industry best practices.
What you'll do#
- Participate in an extensive training program covering Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and good manufacturing practices.
- Contribute to documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Execute assigned projects that support plant operations.
- Work within a processing environment that involves physical activity, including bending, reaching, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
- Navigate conditions typical of a processing plant, such as exposure to varying temperatures and wet environments.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Agriculture, Business Administration, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Nutrition, Animal Science, Food Science, Ag Business, or Ag Economics.
- Ability to commit to a 16-week internship from May through August 2027.
- Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- High degree of initiative and resourcefulness when working with limited guidance.
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada.
