About the role#
This internship offers an opportunity to gain practical experience within an industrial meat processing plant. You will participate in an extensive training program focused on food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. Throughout the program, you will complete assigned projects that align with operational needs while working in a collaborative, professional environment.
What you'll do#
- Participate in comprehensive training covering plant operations, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), and process control.
- Contribute to documentation and reporting to ensure adherence to good manufacturing practices and regulatory standards.
- Execute assigned projects that support the operational goals of the facility.
- Work in an industrial environment that requires physical activity, including bending, reaching, and lifting objects weighing between 10 and 50 pounds.
- Operate in various environmental conditions such as heat, cold, or wet work areas.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Animal Science, Food Science, Agriculture Business, Agricultural Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Ability to commit to a 16-week internship from May through August 2027.
- Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- High degree of initiative and resourcefulness to complete tasks with limited guidance.
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada.
