About the role#
This is a 16-week paid internship focused on the grain and oilseed supply chain. You will work within the Ag & Trading enterprise to connect producers with users through origination, trading, and distribution. This role is designed to provide real-world experience in a hybrid environment, allowing you to apply classroom knowledge to actual business challenges.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain relationships with producers, country elevators, feed mills, and end users.
- Analyze supply and demand data to monitor market conditions.
- Negotiate and finalize terms for commodity purchase and sale contracts, including price, quality, and logistics.
- Manage the transportation and logistics required to execute contracts.
- Complete and present a project focused on market improvement, customer interaction, or internal work processes.
- Collaborate with teams across sales, quality assurance, accounting, and plant operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2029.
- A major or interest in Business Administration, Economics, or Agriculture.
- Completion of, current enrollment in, or plans to complete an introductory college-level Economics course.
- Ability to commit to a 16-week internship from May to August 2027.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
