About the role#
As a Leasing Community Intern, you will serve as a customer service ambassador for our residents and prospective clients. This role focuses on maintaining high occupancy through effective leasing and resident retention. You will collaborate with our team to present the community, manage administrative tasks, and assist with property operations. This is a part-time, on-site position requiring approximately 20 hours of work per week.
What you'll do#
- Greet prospective clients and determine their housing needs.
- Answer incoming leasing calls and present apartment homes.
- Use feature and benefit selling techniques to close sales and follow up with leads.
- Complete lease applications and maintain accurate lease file documentation.
- Participate in lease file audits and pass third-party leasing shops.
- Assist with planning community events and various community projects.
- Perform administrative front desk duties.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the tour path.
- Handle on-call responsibilities, including lockouts and nightly rounds.
- Participate in required Cardinal Way of Leasing and Cardinal U training.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program at an accredited college or university with at least 6 credit hours.
- Completion of at least one year of college studies.
- A minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average.
- Current or future status as a leaseholder at the community, living on the designated floor.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to embody the Cardinal Culture and core values.
