About the role#
As a Leasing Community Intern, you will support our team in maintaining occupancy through resident retention and leasing activities. This role requires a commitment to customer service and collaboration. You will work on-site, balancing your academic responsibilities with approximately 20 hours of work per week. This position is paid and includes bonus eligibility.
What you'll do#
- Greet prospective clients and answer leasing calls.
- Determine client needs and present apartment homes using feature and benefit selling.
- Manage the full leasing process, from initial contact to closing the sale and completing paperwork.
- Maintain accurate lease files and participate in audits.
- Keep the tour path clean and inviting for visitors.
- Assist with planning community events and other property projects.
- Participate in required training programs, including Cardinal Way of Leasing and Cardinal U.
- Handle administrative front desk tasks.
- Support on-call duties, such as lockouts and nightly rounds.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with at least 6 credit hours.
- Completion of at least one year of college with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- Status as a current or future resident of the community, living on the designated floor.
- Valid driver license.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends.
- Ability to embody the Cardinal Culture and core values.
