About the role#
The Hospital Billing Staff Intern functions in an academy-style environment. You will balance didactic instruction with hands-on technical system training to build a foundational command of revenue cycle management and hospital billing protocols. This is a full-time position requiring a commitment to twelve weeks of training, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Participate in all hands-on practice sessions and group activities.
- Read, understand, and apply technical instructions, billing rules, and office procedures.
- Maintain an 80% average or higher throughout the internship to continue the program.
- Complete all classwork and homework assignments on time.
- Use downtime to assist with department needs or personal training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- High School diploma or GED.
- Basic computer skills.
- Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to balance coursework and departmental needs.
- Prior billing experience is preferred.
- Ability to commit to the full twelve-week training schedule with 100% attendance.
