About the role#
Canopy Children's Solutions offers a graduate-level internship for students seeking experience in behavioral health and social services. This role provides direct exposure to clinical settings and supports our mission to help children and families navigate complex challenges. This is an unpaid internship intended for academic credit.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the delivery of mental health services, including individual, family, and group therapy.
- Support substance abuse treatment programs.
- Perform clinical interventions tailored to specific client needs.
- Conduct assessments and develop care plans.
- Complete necessary case documentation.
- Attend a mandatory 40-hour orientation and training session at the start of the term.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a graduate program for Social Work, Counseling, or a related field at an accredited institution.
- Good academic standing.
- Ability to meet goals set by your college and your site supervisor.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Maturity and self-motivation.
- Comfort working with families with diverse backgrounds and needs.
- Ability to integrate into an inclusive team environment.
- An established contract between your academic institution and the site.

- Location: Jackson, Mississippi.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: Minimum 100 hours unless otherwise specified in your academic contract.
